Anne-Marie Elbe is Professor of Sport Psychology and was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sport Science from 2019 to 2023. Prior to this, she was Associate Professor for Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Copenhagen (DK), and worked at Northumbria University, Newcastle (UK), and the University of Potsdam. She completed her doctorate at the Free University Berlin (2001) and her habilitation at the University of Potsdam (2005). Prof Elbe's publications and research interests focus on motivational and volitional aspects of athletic performance, talent development in sport, doping prevention, and the integrative role of sport. She is Past President of FEPSAC (European Federation of Sport Psychology), member of the Scientific Board of ECSS (European College of Sport Science), Associate Editor for the journal Science and Medicine in Football and member of the Editorial Board of Psychology of Sport and Exercise. She is also a former member of Leipzig University's Ethics Board.
